Misery
Misery, by William Goldman based on Stephen King’s 1987 novel, is a gripping psychological thriller that delves into obsession, isolation, and survival.

Paul Sheldon, a successful author known for his series of romantic novels about a heroine named Misery Chastain has just completed a manuscript for a new, non-Misery book and is driving through a remote Colorado area when he loses control of his car during a snowstorm. He is rescued by Annie Wilkes, a former nurse and Paul's self-proclaimed "number one fan."

Annie takes Paul to her secluded home to nurse him back to health, but it quickly becomes apparent that her hospitality is more sinister than it seems. When Annie discovers that Paul has killed off her beloved character Misery in his latest novel, she flies into a rage. Refusing to let Paul leave, she forces him to write a new book resurrecting Misery.

As Paul is held captive, he becomes increasingly desperate to escape. Annie’s psychological instability and erratic, often violent behavior keep him on edge.
